TOP Events for 2007

"Total Overall Performance"

TOP is a summer-long series providing racing, training, and developmental opportunities to Club members. The races are primarily for Club members but non-members are welcome to participate. These are laid-back, low-key events for training, enjoyment, and local bragging rights. The races and time trials are held in and around the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

Due to conflicts with other activities in the Valley, this schedule is subject to frequent revisions—please check back to confirm each event. Refer any questions to Tom Collier, TOP Director.

Notes
  • Events are held under USCF Non-Competitive Permit No. 2007-1627 (Pending) and offer only bragging rights—no payouts or prizes.
  • Entry fee is $5.00 day of event only for USCF licensed riders (SFW members exempt). $5.00 additional for a USCF one-day license if required.
  • Juniors MUST have a parent's or legal guardian's signature on a standard release form—NO EXCEPTIONS!
  • Events start at the designated time with registration opening 30 minutes prior.
  • Two self categorized fields of "A" & "B" will be offered at each event except time trials.
  • Events will be held rain or shine but may be cancelled or shortened for dangerous weather.
  • There will be no support, sag, or sweep vehicles. Come prepared to service your own equipment.
  • All USCF rules apply — approved helmets are required.
  • The centerline rule will be in effect for all events at all times.
  • Intersections will be marshaled but all roads will remain open to traffic. Note that marshals do not legally have the authority to stop traffic, so HEADS UP!
  • Results will be posted on this page.
For SFW Members

We've decided to handout trophies to the top three club members (only) in TOP events this year. There'll be no distinction for A or B or masters or women or whatever. This is just a quick and dirty little thing we thought we'd try to do for the series. We'll try to give everyone who finishes a place and points for every place. The points will be awarded in the reverse of finish order. For example, if there are 12 people in a race, then the winner will get 12 base points, 2nd will get 11 base points, etc. "A" race finishers will have their points multiplied by 2 so a high A finish will be worth more. The top three finishers in each field will get 'bonus' points of 7, 4, and 2 for A's and 5, 3, 1 for B's so there's incentive to reach for a top three finish. DNF's are zero points.
